Braves get Teixeira, Dotel as highlights of 3 deals (AP)
Mark Teixeira landed in Atlanta on Tuesday and right away, there was bold talk in the Braves clubhouse. “Yes, we’ve got the team to win the World Series,” All-Star catcher Brian McCann said. Braves general manager John Schuerholz pulled off three deals before the 4 p.m. deadline to make trades without waivers.

Rangers back to rebuilding after dealing Gagne, Teixeira (AP)
Mark Teixeira and Eric Gagne followed Kenny Lofton out of Texas, leaving the last-place Rangers to rebuild yet again. Rangers owner Tom Hicks revealed after Tuesday’s trades that Teixeira’s agent, Scott Boras, rejected a $140 million, eight-year extension that the team offered two weeks ago to the power-hitting first baseman.
